Here's another decoupling challenge for business

Under current trends of population growth and expanding middles classes, global extraction of resources is set to reach 140 billion tonnes by 2050. This will probably exceed the availability and accessibility of resources, as well as the carrying capacity of the planet to absorb the impacts of their extraction and use."

Rethinking capitals: Going beyond financials is the natural thing to do

There are more effective measures of business resilience, value and efficiency, than financial capital alone.

There is a growing drive to incorporate other forms of capital, including natural, social and intellectual, into mainstream corporate reporting.  The interactions between these capitals, and flows to and from, are not visible in most accounting systems despite being drawn on to generate business value.
